Such a beautiful city!
I woke up early to catch the light over the water before heading off to spend the day in Braga. I had been staying at the lovely The Sandeman Hostel right down by the river, but with such a vertical city, getting out of the hostel and up to the city meant climbing and climbing and climbing…so many stairs! Before you can get anywhere or catch transport out of town, you have to tackle that exhausting climb up the steep, winding staircases cut into the hillside.
Once you reach the top, though, the peace and quiet make it entirely worth it. The city was completely still, the river looked like glass, just magnificent!
